Borosilicate glass
Borosilicate is a type of glass with silica and boron trioxide as the main glass-forming constituents. Known for having very low coefficients of thermal expansion, making them more resistant to thermal shock and having less thermal stress and can withstand temperature differentials without fracturing (165 °C / 300 °F).
Borosilicate glass melts at about 1,650 °C (3,000 °F; 1,920 K) giving it superior durability, chemical and heat resistance, making it exceptional for cookware and other household products.
Duran, Pyrex, Simax, Marinex are just some brands of glass housewares that are borosilicate glass.
